6-Week Essay Writing Course

This course provides students with all the tools necessary to independently compose an A+ essay! It includes weekly video instruction, printouts to assist in taking notes, simple homework assignments and meaningful feedback on all assignments.

This course includes everything needed to write an epic essay, from start to finish.

This class will be comprised of the following lesson topics:
Week 1 - How to compose a masterful thesis statement, the backbone of any great essay.
Week 2 - Introducing your topic: how to set the stage for a clear and cohesive message.
Week 3 - Outlining the body of an essay: how to skillfully lay out your topic for maximum impact.
Week 4 - How to present the four types of proof that allow your essay to carry weight  with an audience.
Week 5 - Smooth transitions between topics and paragraphs within an essay: how to summarize and anticipate those topics effectively.
Week 6 - Conclude your essay powerfully with some tips and tricks for creating an elegant finishing paragraph.

Please note: This weekly class is prerecorded, not live, in order to be viewed at any time that is convenient to the students.

Meet the Teacher

Savannah Hepburn Penny received her BA in English Literature, with a concentration in Creative Writing, from the University of Calgary in 2004. Since then she has taught writing to homeschooled children in a variety of settings, including her own home, where she continues to homeschool her six kids. She loves working with children and teens, and promoting a love of great literature.

What is your cancellation policy?

You are free to cancel at any time! We feel so confident about the efficacy of our courses that we will refund 100% of the cost if you are unsatisfied at any time during the course. We urge you to participate for at least two weeks before deciding that it’s not right for you. 

Is this course a good fit for my child?

The 6-week Essay Writing Course will provide all students, regardless of ability, with a framework for how to compose a great essay. Students of all ages, abilities and inclinations will be able to take what is useful and applicable to improve their writing skills, no matter where their starting point is. The amount of improvement will depend on the amount of effort a student puts in. There is nobody who will not benefit from the instruction available in this course.
